About Nailscar Ministry

You are not alone.

Nailscar Ministry is a faith-based suicide prevention, awareness, survivor support, and crisis-direction ministry.

Important: Nailscar Ministry is not a medical, psychiatric, or licensed counseling service. We are not psychologists, therapists, or emergency responders. We offer faith-based support, awareness, survivor care, and help pointing people toward appropriate crisis and professional resources.

If this is an emergency

If you are in immediate danger, think you may act on suicidal thoughts, or someone is at immediate risk, contact emergency services or go to the nearest hospital immediately.

Do not wait for an email reply or a website response in a life-threatening situation.

Who this is

My name is James Simmons, a licensed minister and founder of Nailscar Ministry.

This work is not theoretical for me. I'm a survivor of suicide loss. I lost my brother, and I was the one who discovered him after his death. That experience was devastating and continues to shape my understanding of grief, trauma, and the need for real support.

This ministry was created out of that reality — to help others who are hurting, searching, or trying to understand what to do next.

What Nailscar Ministry is

Nailscar Ministry is a faith-based effort focused on suicide prevention awareness, survivor support, and helping people find the right next step in moments of crisis or confusion.

  • Speaking honestly about suicide and suffering
  • Supporting survivors and those affected by loss
  • Offering pastoral care and compassionate presence
  • Directing people toward appropriate crisis and professional resources

What this ministry is not

It is important to be clear about limitations.

Nailscar Ministry is not:
  • a medical service
  • a psychiatric or psychological provider
  • a licensed counseling or therapy service
  • a crisis hotline or emergency response system

This ministry does not replace professional care, emergency services, or licensed mental health treatment.

What this ministry aims to do

The goal of Nailscar Ministry is simple and focused:

  • To help people know they are not alone
  • To speak about suicide with honesty and compassion
  • To support those living with grief and loss
  • To guide people toward the right kind of help when it is needed

Sometimes the most important step is not having all the answers, but knowing where to go next. This ministry exists to help make that next step clearer.

Approach and tone

This ministry is grounded in faith, but it is also grounded in reality.

That means:

  • Speaking truthfully, without minimizing pain
  • Offering compassion without pretending to fix everything
  • Encouraging people to seek real help when needed
  • Meeting people where they are, not where they “should” be

There is no pressure here to have everything figured out. The focus is on taking the next step, whatever that step is.

You are not alone.
